He said it was good right?

Sometimes there are some things you just have to take on faith. One of those things is the sun. I mean, its big warm beautiful. There are times when I love it, i love the sunny beach and a great tan, and those Jimmy Dean commercials are TDF

Genesis 1:3,4 and God said let there be light, and there was light. And God saw the light and that it was good and divided it from the darkness.

But sometimes I wonder. I mean, i really didnt miss it that much those 6 months in alaska. My father passed away from skin cancer. People spend all their dough trying to get rid of and prevent wrinkles. Sunburns are no fun, esp for my red head. and then there is the fact that it is hot hot hot and this is the second state ive lived in going through a pretty decent water shortage that certainly isnt helped by mister sun up there. by far my biggest beef with the sun has been this .....

we bought a house on a high hill with the best view in the entire city. in order to maximize this view we have a huge picture window which is the focal point of the living room. all day long i love gazing at the mountains as i eat, pray, live, and love :) but around 5pm this happens. it isnt pretty and lasts a couple of hours. Parker felt bad after a few weeks of squinting and rigged me up this xl umbrella which became part of our nightly routine. We knew something had to be done but what? we had a large window in az and just went with curtains which looked great but gathered dust and were repeatedly tugged down by dogs and kids. In our ak homes we had blinds which also bit the dust once or twice thanx to paxton Tarzan. so we needed a better solution. We decided to start calling in the specialists , getting quotes and see what our options were. In the end, we chose plantation shutters from Lowes (thanks to their military discount) who beat the local guys by a couple hundred bucks. we usually try and support small businesses but in this case the deal was too sweet to pass up. After a 9week wait for the custom shutters we are super happy with the results, and i have since squashed most of my beef with the sun. we are on good terms these days and the view has never been better :)

  3. the only issue I ever had living in CO was a heat wave...100 pluss degress and zero AC. WE bought a single room indoor swap cooler. IT saved us, or me. I was preggy, miserable and hot.
Our house never had sun issues. It was infact, too dark, even with 2 story windows...

    :)
